Baby Meg

As a baby, the world is your oyster. Everything is so whimsical and magical, and you enter every situation with no pre-conceived knowledge of anything. You have the purest intentions in everything that you do.

As adults, I think it is important that we take a step back and try to think more like babies. Less worry, more affirmation. Less stubbornness, more openness. When we stop carrying about every minute, we no longer live in fear. We live in a state of love and acceptance, and this is the ultimate goal.

When you begin to live in a state of love and gratitude, everything shifts. Everything gets easier, and the hard things aren’t so hard anymore. Learning from babies allows us to see this, and the purity of the mindsets we all carried when we entered this world.

In terms of emotion, this element gives me a feeling of nostalgia and playfulness. I can feel how happy and pure I was in this moment before I developed certain ways of thought in the environment I grew up in.

My entrepreneurial mindset is one that tries to replicate the imaginative process of a baby as much as possible. When approaching wicked problems, try your best to approach them with no preconceived notions, just as a baby would. You will find that problem-solving gets a lot easier when you can see the picture from a less complex perspective (Think about The Dolly Method!)

Creativity is also something that is so valued in children. Almost every activity conducted with babies is meant to boost their creative development. I think we should all try to incorporate more avenues for creative development and brainstorm into the workplace, regardless of profession or concentration.

From this, I learned truly what it means to observe your inner child, and the importance of letting them come out and play.
