Comfort Object

Comfort is one of the most important feelings for children to experience. When we also observe the feelings that we need as adults, comfort is something that will always and forever be at the top of this list.

When looking for an object that provided me with comfort at a very young age, I immediately thought of this stuffed animal. I called it ‘Lovey’ and it brought me a lot of comfort and security whenever I needed it most.

As an adult, I still need this feeling of comfort whenever things aren’t going as planned. However, as adults, we shift to other things like exercise, journaling, gratitude, etc.

I was very shy as a young child, and I think my need for comfort was a lot more immediate. As I got older, my need for comfort shifted from being internally sourced to people-pleasing, which is still something I am working on. I mean, I am an expressive, so this trait makes a lot of sense. In terms of the entrepreneurial mindset, this may mean I need an analytical on my side to keep me grounded and balanced.

When looking at creativity, I have been in situations where I don’t feel grounded or comfortable, and I’ve noticed that I don’t have as successful of creative outputs. In order to be creative, your first step is to make sure that you feel grounded and secure.

Either way, what I have learned here is that we all have and need a ‘Lovey’, no matter how old we are.
