My Favorite Toy
When I first learned how to speak, I could literally only say “blue dinosaur hat” for almost a year. I just wanted a blue dinosaur hat so bad. For Christmas, my dad got me, you guessed it, a blue dinosaur hat.
I’m not sure what sparked my desire for one, but I wore this hat everywhere. It was almost like another comfort object. If I were to try and understand my thought process behind the hat, I would probably assume that the hat made me feel imaginative. I probably came up with tons of stories and scenarios that had to do with me and my dinosaur hat. It acted as a cap of creativity.
Although this isn’t a traditional toy, it still fulfilled the purpose of sparking imagination and roleplay within my younger self.
This hat feels like an adventure to me. The stories and places I came up with in this hat are endless! As an entrepreneur, to this day I still value my ability to creatively ideate and visualize greatly. This silly blue dinosaur hat sparked this ability!
In terms of creativity, we all need elements of self-expression to get our creative juices flowing. As an adult, I am my most productive when I dress in my favorite clothes and jewelry. My true style isn’t too mainstream, but it makes me feel the most like me.
Through this observation, I realized the importance of expressing myself in what I wear, and how it acts as a catalyst to my creativity.
